SimpleMeter_v2.0 by vonSmallhausen SimpleMeter_v2.0 by vonSmallhausen
The time is due for an update of SimpleMeter.
The whole suit is now dynamic to the fontsize you set, so if you up the size of the font - the suit will change accordingly.

__Added__
*Easier to edit settings.
*Dynamically sizeable.
*Added a slim view.
- Easy to change to slim-view (right click).
*Added Notes.
*Added launcher.
- Easy to change what icons and apps you want.
*Added RSS-feed.
*Added StringEffect-option.
*Added battery option to SystemAll.
*Now support for 12 cores.
*Added wifi-'strength and list'-skin.
*Added 12h-clock support with AM/PM option.

There are no annoying addons that you set the variables with, you only need to have your notepad (or other texteditor of your choice) to do it and you get a better look of it all.

If you encounter any problems or bugs I would appreciate if you could point them out and post a comment here so I can see if it is fixable.

Now - Enjoy!

For those of you having trouble with the weather app, I messed around for awhile until I found a solution. If you navigate to "C:\Users\#USER#\Documents\Rainmeter\Skins\SimpleMeter_v2.0" look for the configuration file named "SimpleMeter2.0-variables".
If you go in there and change "BigTemp=1 to 0 it might work.
It worked for me at least. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much for this wonderful skin. I am unable to change to font size to a size I like. I am sure I am doing something incorrectly. Where exactly do I change the font size? Is it in the SimpleMeter2.0-styles?

Thank you for your assistance.

Liking this skin. Was wondering if there was a way to limit the string length for the media player to the length of about 30 characters or so, as it'll extend the name to something quite huge when using Winamp and playing shoutcast stations.

Hi there! Awesome skin.
The only problem I have is the BGBars. Whenever I tab from any fullscreen-window to the desktop or use "Show Desktop" Button, they vanish. When i open the screen up again and minimize it via the minimize button of the screen, the BGBars come back, although screwed. They are layered above the text.

Any way to fix this? Since i have ~4-5 maximized windows open when working at projects, I don't want to click "minimize" 5 times to avoid fucking up the bars.

The skin is much appreciated anyhow, though!

I am also unable to get the correct clock speed or cpu usage by core.

Everything else is working, thanks for a great skin. Would have preferred HW mon or everest, speedfan is outdated imo. I may look at the rainmeter guide and modify for use with the hwmon plugin.

Great sin. Two questions/issues:
1) Is there any way to add text above the current weather that states the location. i tried to add text in there on my own, but can't figure out what variable needs to be adjusted to increase the total Y measurement. When I add the text, and adjust to get spacing above "Current" it gets cut off.
2) The detailed weather data that you have in your picture doesn't work. I might be missing something.

Thoughts or advice? Thanks for the simple clean skin though.

Is there a way to change the "LAN IP" in the sysinfo if you have multiple Ethernet cards??
Reply
:iconvonsmallhausen:
vonSmallhausen Featured By Owner Apr 6, 2011
Yeah.
[link]
Take a look at that. What you will have to do is change the SysInfoDate= 0 to a number which corresponds with which card you are using.

From the manual:

IP_ADDRESS (SysInfoData specifies which ip address, if there are several. 0-999 for installed, 1000-1999 for active)

SysInfoData
Additional data that some of the SysInfoType items require. This is always a number. For SysInfoTypes which use SysInfoData to specify a monitor, the appropriate value to pass can be found by opening the Windows Display Properties dialog. It is important to note that "1" is not always the primary display monitor.

Can you tell me pls, where is the appropriate place for the weather location code. I understand, I have to edit "SimpleWeatherH.ini", paste there my location code, save and refresh, but where is this place? Can you show me a part of text, how it should looks like?
Reply
:iconvonsmallhausen:
vonSmallhausen Featured By Owner Mar 28, 2011
You should NOT edit that file.
The location code should be in SimpleMeter2.0-variables.inc
In it you will find

; Get your location code: [link]
LocationCode=SWXX0031
Unit=m
HideUnit=0
BigTemp=1
HideTodayForcast=0
ForcastDays=5
Icon=..\Icons\Weather\

Near the bottom. Change there, save, refresh the skin.

I found another bug... in your system.ini, you try an load CoreTempPlugin.dll for measuring core temperatures. I looked in rainmeter's plugins folder and saw a CoreTemp.dll, but not a CoreTempPlugin.dll. I changed the ini file for the system skin to load the CoreTemp.dll, instead of CoreTempPlugin.dll and the error disappeared.

However, the temperature reading always displayed a value of 0. I am not sure if this is an error in your skin, or if this is an error in Rainmeter's Coretemp plugin. I have tried starting rainmeter as an administrator... so I don't think this is an issue with the program not having system permissions to access that data. Does the Core temp work for you? Also, with the SpeedFan plugin, what is the SpeenFanNumber variable (in your variables file) supposed to be set to, if I try and use speed fan instead of CoreTemp?

:iconvonsmallhausen:
vonSmallhausen Featured By Owner Mar 7, 2011
The coretemp plugin is an old plugin that only works on XP, back in the old days it was at least my preferred plugin of choice as you didn't have to run an external program to get the info from you cores.
As you will see I also got support for SpeedFan which is intended for anyone who is not on XP.
The name change from CoreTempPlugin is probably due to an effort to remove 'plugin' from the names of all the plugins.

So, it's not a bug, it's support for XP-users who don't want to use SpeedFan. :)

I just downloaded and tried SimpleMeter v2.0. I like it a lot, but I found a bug. In the system skin, the WAN address was not displayed. I fixed the problem by editing the [MWAN] section of the SystemAll.ini file.
In the [MWAN] section, I changed the URL to [link] and I changed the RegExp to "(?siU)Current IP Address: (.*)</body></html>"

Did the site you used to determine the WAN address change and invalidate your regular expression?

Anyways, thanks for creating this theme.... its exactly what I needed.

Ah. Yes. I was pulling it from ripe.net but they changed their page when the last IPv4 block was allocated, so the whole thing failed.
Personally I'm using this at the moment.

[MWAN]
Measure= Plugin
Plugin= Plugins\WebParser.dll
URL=[link]
RegExp="(?si)(.+)"
StringIndex=1
UpdateRate=40000

(added spaces so those darn smilies don't show up)
